Stuck in the snow

David and I couldn't resist playing in the snow either.
We decided to head down to the river and see what it looked like.
Unfortunately the golf cart path was frozen over and we slid off into the neighbors grass and got stuck.  Fortunately for David, he married a very strong and capable woman.  Together we pushed it back onto the road and made it home.  After spinning a few donuts on the ice, of course.

Snow!

It is so hard to believe that we actually have snow here.
It's not something I thought we'd ever see again after moving from Omaha.
Chloe and Benjamin thoroughly enjoyed watching it fall.
They are like two peas in a pod.
Eventually I did let them outside.
Benjamin really wanted to see the snowman.
And he wanted to touch snow.
And then throw it, of course.
So far I think this summer boy likes winter.
But Chloe just wanted to go back inside.

Snow day!

I can't believe I'm saying this.
But it SNOWED here.
Way down in the deep, DEEP South - right by Mobile Bay.  It SNOWED.
And Grace couldn't be more excited.
I think it was Faith's first time to enjoy the snow.
And enjoy the snow we did.  We had snowball fights.
We rolled around in the snow.
And made snow angels.
Lots of snow angels.
We even made a teeny little snowman.
Then we came inside and warmed up with hot chocolate.
And fishy cracker smores.

Train ride

Today we went to Wales West for a birthday party.
And rode the trains.
What an awesome afternoon.

Its cold outside!

It was quite cold today, so Grace bundled up for school.  She wants snow by the way.
Doesn't she look so cute ready for winter?

She made her own little bed on the floor

Apparently Faith wanted a nap today.
So she pulled the "little pillow" off our bed.
Along with our blanket and make her own little bed on the floor and went right to sleep.

Target practice

Now that the weather is warming up, we've been getting ready for Spring and Summer.
We start with target practice!
Gotta get ready for those nasty water moccasins, y'know.

Hiding in plain sight

Sometimes Faith and I play hide and seek.  Today she hid in plain sight - right on the countertop!

Indoor camping

Grace and Faith wanted to go camping.
So I hung a spare sheet between their beds.
And sure enough they camped out and slept through the night in their makeshift tent.

Hallway obstacle course

Sometimes when it's cold outside you have to play inside.
So today I used painters tape I stumbled upon in the garage.
And I created an obstacle course outside the playroom.
Grace and Faith had a blast crawling over and scooting under.
Benjamin wasn't too keen on the idea.
But Chloe just went right along with it all.
And eventually Benjamin did as well.  What a fun way to beat some cold weather blues!

Little bearded boy

Benjamin found a marker today.  He thought it was a sunscreen stick.
So he rubbed it all over his cheeks and chin.
Now his face is colored.
And he looks like a little bearded man.
Or hobo boy.
But we love him anyway.

Queenie, Granddaddy, and Seth

Queenie and Granddaddy came by today.
And we exchanged presents with them.
The most exciting party was seeing Seth.
And spending time with family.
Playing with Queenie is always so much fun.
And that makes saying goodbyes especially hard.  Be safe in Oklahoma, Seth.  We love you.
