Playing outside

The best part of mild winters?
Playing outside with new Christmas toys.
The scooters are a real blast.
Even Benjamin likes watching his sisters scoot along the driveway.

Our Christmas at home

We waited to celebrate our family Christmas until we got home.
So the morning after we arrived, the children woke up to find their presents under the tree.
And a sneaking elf peeking under the wrapping paper.
The girls were delighted to open a game - their "something to play together."
And slippers.
"Something to wear."
Their scooters were their favorites.
They were the items "something wanted."
Even Benjamin received a small game.
And basketball.   I thought that was what he'd like the most.
Even Chloe got a toy.
or two.  And in case you were wondering.  We had "The Christmas Talk" with Grace.  She wanted to know if Santa Claus was real and we told her the truth.  I want our children to feel comfortable asking us anything and never doubting that we will always be honest with them and tell them the truth.  And while I don't mind playing pretend with my children I never want them to doubt the true meaning of Christmas - the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A family photo - of us!

We rarely get a picture of us all including Chloe.
But we actually managed it today.
And we were even smiling at the camera.
Amazing. Thanks Ed for making my children laugh.  You're awesome.

Christmas Day

Today we celebrated Christmas at Jennifer and Joe's house.
And we met their new baby, Coco today!
Grace adores Coco.
So does Faith.
Actually, all the kids are fascinated with her.
The whole family was there today.
Bethany and her family.
David and our family.
.
Aunt Charlotte.

Soon to be daughter-in-law Chelsea with Helen.
Look at Chelsea's beautiful ring!

The kids hung out and played.
Before we opened presents.

Grace loves her new hair holder.
So does Faith.
But Faith really, really likes her Minnie Mouse bag.
Benjamin just likes his MeeMee.
And Scarlett liked hiding Coco's toys.
Stephen and Luke made funny faces.
And the girls just played sweetly together.
Actually all the kids really get along well.  They're best buddies.
We finished the night by roasting marshmallows.
And catching a few on fire.
What a wonderfully large family.
Merry Christmas!

Chloe the camo dog

Chloe is such an amazing dog.
Dare I say, Super Dog?
She loves children and tolerates them exceptionally well.
Even when they play dress up with her.
Welcome to the Special Forces, Commando Chloe!
