July 4 - Lots of Fun

Everyone had a fabulous time at the 4th of July this year.The waterslide was pretty awesome.Even Grace went down it.She went down the slip-n-slide, too.The boys would go so fast they flew right over the inflated barrier at the end.The babies had their own little pools in the sun.Everyone got wet - even those who were reluctant to get wet.Matthew had a cotton candy machine.Everyone ate some.It was blue. and sticky.
and yummy.

The old liked it.The young did, too.
And everyone ate as much as they could hold. Even Chloe got to eat some.

Blue tongues could be found everywhere.

Even the mosquitoes ate something sweet - Derick that is.

Then we had a showing of a full moon in the middle of the afternoon.
Then the boys, I mean men, had a rousing game of ladder ball.

Part of the fun of the game was watching them look silly.

Funny looking arms while tossing the ball shows real "skill."

Some go high.

Others go low. All part of the game.Meanwhile, the youngun's played in the sand.Grace took a bite of sand.It didn't taste too good.Then we had a volunteer to be the sandbox instructor. He taught the girls how to put sand in each other's hair.

Lots and lots of sand in hair.

Then some of the kids went for a stroll around the yard.

Two doubled up to share a ride.

There was fun with stringy things.

And then another rousing game of ladder ball.

The babies had as much if not more fun that the adults.

Glow sticks and jewelry for everyone.

Even Nanna got dressed up with glowing jewelry.Then there was county square dancing.And romantic dancing, too.Even a sweet serenade.

Ahhhh. Sweet memories of fun family time at the 4th of July.
