My big helper

Sometimes I don't know what I would do without my big helper.
Grace is fantastic.  She loves to hold Benjamin and feed him a bottle.  God has blessed her with a strong mothering instict and a compassionate and caring heart.  I am certain that she will make an amazing mother one day.
In the meantime, she is an incredible little girl.  And she often helps me out by holding and feeding Benjamin while giving me half an hour to get dinner ready.

A girl's gotta have her gun

David had a surprise for Grace today.
Her very first BB gun.
Grace was very excited.
As was Faith.
I have a feeling that she's going to enjoy shooting as much as her Daddy does.

Such a tiny baby

Look at those tiny fingers holding his Daddy's thumb.
It's amazing how small he still is.
And it won't be much longer before he finally has hair.  I just love the back of his head and the way his hair grows in a circle.  Grace's hair did that, too.  Faith's hair did not.  I wish now I had thought to take pictures of their heads, too.

Asleep sitting up

I put Faith in time out today.  It didn't work like I had intended.  She used her time out as nap time.  On second thought, maybe I should use it more often...

Children's museum

Today I took the kids to the children's musem.
Faith just wanted to ride in the stroller.
So did Benjamin.
But Grace became the captain of the ship.
And eventually enticed Faith to play with her.
They were captives and pirates, of course.
And we had the best time exploring today.

Pediatrician visit times two

Today both Benjamin and Faith had a checkup at the pediatrician's office.
Benjamin went first and weighed in at a whopping 11 pounds 8 ounces.
So he is now in the 80% for his height and 40% for his weight.
Next, it was Faith's turn.  Have I mentioned he absolutely hates the doctor's office?
She didn't even get any shots today.  She's We finally managed to get her measurements.  Faith weighs 24 pounds and is 36 inches tall.  That puts her in the 95% for her height and 25% for her weight.  My baby is tall and skinny.
And very stubborn and quite hilarious.  When we got to the room, Faith found her sunglasses in my purse, put them on and was quiet and content.  I think she believes they give her a superpower when she wears them - she can ignore everyone around her because she becomes invisible...

Big sisters

Faith is learning to be a great big sister.
She loves to hold her little brother.
And he likes to be held.
Grace is also very attentive.
Benjamin is one lucky boy to have two sisters watching over and helping care for him.

View from Grace

Sometimes Grace wants to take pictures.
And it's always interesting to see the world through her eyes.  To notice the little things that she finds so fascinating.
See her boo-boo.
And her pretty sandal?
A Sesame Street book.
The movie on the headrest.
Her baby brother sleeping.
And her Momma with her siblings.  My how she melts my heart.

Paint can be messy. Very messy

Faith was supposed to paint on the canvas for her Aunt Hope.
But I think she got more paint on her body than anywhere else.
That and the floor.  But that's what bathtubs and scrub brushes are made for, right?

Asleep in the kitchen

Who else but Faith could sleep like this...

Faith turns 2

Today we celebrated Faith's 2nd birthday.
It's hard to believe that she's already turning two years old.
Where ahs the time gone?
She wanted a "pin-sess tassle" (princess castle) cake.
So I made both.
When she thought I wasn't looking she sneaked a tiny sample.
She pulled a turret off.
And she devoured it.
Then she invited Grace over for a sample.
Then it was time to blow out the candles.
We are little firebugs here.
So we blow out candles time and time again.
Then we ate cake.
And ice cream.
Don't you love our tiny little cones?  They are perfect kiddo serving sizes.
Besides our immediate family, Queenie, Hope, and Seth joined in the festivities.
And then it was time for presents.
That's always a favorite time.
Faith got a bubble blowing "BUGH!" (bug!)  She's mildly obsessed with bugs.  If she sees even the tiny fruit fly she points and yells "BUGH!" (bug!) until someone comes and makes it go away.  It's quite hilarious actually.  I took her and Benjamin to Sam's the other day and we split a hot dog at the snack bar when Faith saw a fly at the next table.  So, of course, she stands on her seat and yells "BUGH!" so loudly that people checking out start looking to see what sort of bug could cause that sort of commotion.  Only to see the little lonely housefly puttering around the tables.  Of course Faith continued to point and yell until a nice gentleman walked over and shooed it away...  Ah, the joys of grocery shopping...
Anyway, Faith also received "pin-sess sues" (princess shoes) which she wore the remainder of the evening.  She's pretty much obsessed with shoes, too.  And has been since she could crawl...
She also received a 3 seater teeter totter from her Queenie and Grandaddy.  My kids will love that for sure.
After changing into a real princess dress, it was time to break the pinata.
I must say those pinatas are extremely well made.
It took David knocking it around before we ever got any candy out.
My baby girl is really growing up into a beautiful little lady.
And one thing is for certain raising a little prince charming and two beautiful princesses beats any fairytale.
