Seth's baseball team played in Mobile Friday. David, Grace, and I went to the game and watched him play. They lost badly. Afterwards my mother talked to Seth's coach and he allowed Seth to not ride the bus back to Monroeville so Seth could spend the weekend with us.
So this morning, we got up and drove over to Mobile to meet up with some friends at the Irish Festival at Callahan's Irish Social Club.
There was a lot of people there!
And many really got into the Irish spirit!
Some wore their kilts.
And even the dogs dressed up for the occasion.
The celebration started at noon and was scheduled to last until almost midnight.
It was pretty windy when the clouds covered the sun, so Grace bundled up in her Daddy's jacket.
Soon it warmed up and the kids decided to play with the dirt in the cracks. It didn't take long before Grace looked like an orphan in a Charles Dickens story.
The festival was a lot of fun with really good food such as corned beef and cabbage.
But the best was time with wonderful friends.
We stayed for most of the afternoon before heading home. On our way back to our car, Grace spotted a patch of shamrocks.
And she picked a "fow-ur" (flower) for me. How sweet!
May the saddest day of your future,
Be no worse
Than the happiest day of your past.
Happy St. Paddy's Day 2010!
