"Gone With The Wind" Rummage Sale!

The Bragg-Mitchell Mansion in Mobile is hosting it's first ever "Gone With The Wind" rummage sale on Saturday, October 3 from 7am to 1pm.  I think this is going to be SO much fun and I'm hoping I have at least one thrifty friend who will go with me.  Melissa, you hear me!  Don't make plans for Oct. 3 unless they're with me!

Here's a bit of the history of the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion.
.
Built in 1855 by Judge John Bragg, the mansion is a 13,000-square-foot Greek Revival facing in Mobile, Alabama. Bragg built the home for his wife and family to enjoy Mobile's social season, Thanksgiving through Mardi Gras.
.
The Judge died in 1878 and four additional families have owned the home since. The last private owner of the mansion was the A.S. Mitchell family who occupied the house until 1965 and took enormous care in maintaining the home.
.
Canopied by a grove of century-old oaks and furnished with fine antiques and crystal chandeliers, the Bragg-Mitchell offers a rare glimpse of life in the Old South. Built in 1855, the house was the center of the lively social life of the thriving port of Mobile.
.
The Bragg-Mitchell was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. After more than $3 million in renovations, the home opened to the public in 1987. Guided tours are available from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
