Practice makes perfect

This evening we drove to Berry College where the wedding will take place tomorrow.
Look it's Bambi!  I  couldn't believe the wildlife we saw on campus.

This is Frost Chapel where the ceremony will take place.  Melissa's parents were married here.

It almost looks like a castle.
Tomorrow the bridesmaids and Melissa will walk from our anteroom through this walkway before entering the church.
This is the interior of the chapel.  It's spectacular.
The stained glass is beautiful beyond description.
And the woodwork is incredible.  Before long we started rehearsing our entrances.
Here's the lovely bride-to-be with her makeshift bouquet.
A quick sidenote, traditionally the bride uses the ribbons from shower gifts to make a stand-in bouquet for the rehearsal.  Melissa had so many ribbons from so many gifts that she couldn't possibly use them all.  If she did the bouquet would be bigger than her flower girl.
Speaking of flowergirls, here's the little angel.
She's so lovely and looks so sweet dancing along the path.  She makes me miss my little girls.
And this is our handsome ring bearer.  He was the most adorable little boy I've ever seen.  He reminds me of a miniature Cas.  Cas is the groom-to-be and tall, handsome fellow to our ring bearer's right.   I just wanted to squeeze him to pieces and take him home with me.
Soon we all headed inside the church.
After a couple of times rehearsing we had our parts down pat and were ready to go eat!
While everyone else was loading up to head to dinner, I walked around and saw some more of the church.
It is magnificient from every angle.

I could spend all day exploring it.
But there was a hungry bride and groom-to-be.
So we headed to dinner at the local country club.
First things first I inspected the bathroom and I love this one.  I'm just a bathroom kind of gal.  I always check out the ladies room everywhere we go.  I'm weird like that.  But this bathroom in particular is exceptionally lovely.  I even like the pink wallpaper but I'm in lust with the mirrors.  I was tempted to take one off the wall and out to my car, but was afraid that wouldn't be very ladylike...and someone might notice...
On to dinner.  We had salad.
And corn casserole.
And roasted potatoes.  They were scrumptious.
But these were better.  Veggies.  Still slightly crunchy the way I like them but roasted to bring out the flavor.
And green bean almondine.  These were my favorite.  I love green beans just about any way you can cook them but throw in some toasted almonds and my taste buds really start to salivate.
Chicken.
And beef.  What a fabulous dinner!
And here's my hot date.  He was the best part of my night.  Actually he's always my best part.  That's what better halves are.
And here's one more picture of our pretty bride.  I'm so excited for her I can barely stand it!  Just a few more hours and she'll be Mrs. Smith!
