Anniversary dinner

I planned to have a very special dinner for our anniversary.
 I set the table using our centerpieces from our wedding.  They have held up surprisingly well over the last 4 years.  I bought the vases in Omaha, drove them to Florida, filled them will sand, shells, and candles, then packed 3 of them (the tiny one from the bride and groom table, and a medium and large one from other tables) and drove them back to Omaha.  Then our movers packed them up and moved them to Alabama for us and we haven't cracked, broken, or lost the sand to a single one.  Incredible!
 I broke out the fine china.
 And crystal. 
I even baked a small square cake and put our cake topper on it. 
 Grace was excited about our special dinner, too.  She kept telling me we needed "fie-ur for duh tan-dulls!" (fire for the candles!)
 Then she sang, "Appy burf-day to Day-cee!" (Happy birthday to Gracie!)
 And blew the candles out. 
We did it so many times I lost count.
In addition to breaking out our wedding paraphernalia, I had planned on cooking a replica wedding dinner. Things like coconut shrimp and skewered yakatori and the like.  Alas with chasing a 2 year old and nursing a newborn I just ran out of time.  But my dear husband surprised me by picking up Outback.  He is such a sweet and thoughtful man.  Saying yes to him was the smartest thing I ever did.  So we ate takeout on the fine china, reminised a little about our wedding day, and spent a lot of sweet quality time together as a family.  I wouldn't have it any other way.
